An even earlier breakfast today. Took a Bolt taxi to the airport (like 15 minutes) with a driver that spoke no English at all. In these situations, the “app-taxis” is quite good. All addresses and payment is made up beforehand and delivered to the driver in a manner he or she can understand.

Got our Peugeot 308 GT and took off towards the Czech Republic and Trinec. As I apparently didn’t understand toll-passes, I bypassed that in the Waze app which took us off the highway after just a kilometer. A short while after it felt off so we stopped and switched to Google Maps instead. C

Probably cost us like 15 minutes but got to see some smaller roads in the countryside instead.

A rather uneventful ride to the Trinec. I didn’t really get when speed limits “ended”, but the car had a display that was pretty smart and helped out a lot.

When we reached our goal we took a lap in the roundabout at the arena and then went hunting for food. Found a large supermarket with a small kebab and burger place beside it, cash only, and they don’t have the Euro… Martin withdrew some and got to pay a hefty fee for it. Got our food and sat down on a square close by, enjoying the nice weather.

Drove back to Werk Arena and watched the team warm-up, spoke with the team photographer and some other fans before we entered the arena. Very nice facilities overall. Spoke with both Claes Bergström and Andreas Hedbom and the latter were very impressed with the locker rooms and the areas where the spectators can’t go. They even seem to have some sort of daycare during the games.

We were happy to see that the kiosks accepted cards as payment so we didn’t have to stay thirsty during the game. Also got me a mug from the fan shop.

Not the best hockey game I’ve seen, not the best performance from us in the away stands (even though a couple of guys tried really hard to keep us singing), but we won and are unbeaten in the CHL.

Smooth travel back to Bratislava, drop off the car at the airport, and then a Bolt-taxi into the town center for dinner. Found an Asian place with lousy service but we found some noodles and rice to fill our bellies with. Walked back to the hotel for an early night. Tomorrow we’ll have a sleep-in and then take the train to Vienna.
