Woke up around half past 10. Nice long sleep in a not-too-hot room. Breakfast in the restaurant, not the buffet that you’re used to in Swedish hotels but order from a menu. Pancakes and eggs it is! A few had already gone into town for some shopping, and a couple joined for breakfast later on.

Slow start and then off to rent scooters. A bit reluctant to hand in the passport as a deposit but that was the rule. Unusual to drive on the wrong side of the road but I’ll adapt. Not used to driving a scooter and downhill at 40 km/h is a bit uncomfortable. I’ll manage and it’s a nice way to get around the island.

We went to a beach where we will stay for two nights later on our trip. Amazing environment. Just walked through a bit of the forest and it opened up. Warm water, really hot sand, and just lovely.

The first swim since arrival was very wished-for and terrific. Just playing around in the warm water and gazing upon the forest-encrusted hills surrounding the bay. After a while, we got hungry and sought out the local restaurant where Kasper got the food last, was probably the one least satisfied but it was the most spectacular-looking dish.

More swimming and then back towards civilization on the scooters.

When back at Coco Garden a few of us got out on a shopping run on the scooters. Interesting to drive among the Thai on the streets. Not close to the busy traffic as in Bangkok so it’s quite nice. Found out that XXL is a totally different size than in Sweden (surprise surprise). Any takers for two “Thai-XXL” shirts? 😉

More chill out at the local bar and then off to a restaurant that Stefan had seen earlier. After about a 1.5 km walk we gave up and headed back and landed at a sports bar (yay) showing Bel-Tun. Anna and John kept going since the only vegetarian alternative to the nice burgers was a Greek salad. Kasper and Daniel joined us for dessert.

After dinner and the walk back to Coco Garden, a few of them landed on the porch of Mattias and Victor’s bungalow playing cards. Introduced them to the game cucumber (Gurka). Of course, I won (only I knew the game beforehand, I shuffled most of the rounds and I kept the score). But well played to the rest of you!

Slowly everyone got to bed, only me hanging in the bar waiting for the game Germany-Sweden which they let me watch in the restaurant.

We lost the game (as you probably know) in the final minute. Time to try and get some sleep in the heat. Annors is still at the bar, even though stated earlier I’m the evening that he should not get in bed too late…
