The alarm was set at nine but I woke up before that like every other day on this trip. I left the hotel to get some breakfast at Sunny’s which I scouted earlier this week. I decided for some toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, and some apple juice. The first batch should have cost $14, but the tab landed on $40! The receipt I got didn’t specify items and I regret I didn’t ask more at the time, but that became a rather expensive breakfast.

$40 breakfast (including some apple juice)

Next up was to go to USPS to send a collector card on behalf of Henrik. Trickier than I expected. Like that a sender’s address was required. “You can’t send anonymous mail”, the staff told me. Not sure what security that actually gets you. I put down my next hotel, but that’s a window of three days… Anyway, got a tracking number so I hope it goes as planned.

The closest USPS office. Impressive on the outside, rather depressing on the inside.

Bought a pair of flip-flops on the way back. It’s easier than my sandals when going to the beach or the hotel pool. Also got me a coin purse, they are starting to stack up and I need to keep them somewhere 🙂

I went down to the beach to take a swim in the Atlantic ocean. Got a couple of towels from the hotel and made myself a little bed on the sand. Grabbed my new waterproof bag so I could bring the phone and room key with me. In case someone would grab my backpack I would only lose like $20, a water bottle, and a t-shirt. Really nervous that the bag would stay dry but with time I got more trusting and in the end, the bag actually was afloat when I lowered myself into the water. The sun was shining, the water was warm, a light breeze and life were wonderful!

When the clock passed 12 I went back to the hotel to get my laptop and head up to the pool to watch Leksands home premier. The pool is run by the restaurant next to the hotel so you aren’t allowed to bring any food or drink on your own. So I ordered a “virgin frozen drink”, which according to the menu would cost $12. To my surprise, he charged me $18 and blamed it on taxes. 50% sales tax is high, even for Sweden. But when examining the receipt, it said the drink was $14 and then it automatically added 20% gratuity. I didn’t bother to fight about it, but let’s just say I won’t be ordering anything else from that bar. I need to get used to that stuff costs more than what it says on the sticker or menu.

It got cloudy after the first period so I returned to the room and actually found a loose HDMI cable behind the TV so I could hook up the computer and see the rest of the game on 50″ instead of 13″. Nice with a win and a shut-out for the debuting Armalis!

I remembered I found an escape room in Key West yesterday, but it was closed. I thought there must be one in Miami and I was correct, even one in Miami Beach. After the game, I headed there hoping they do walk-ins and that there would be a room that could be solved by a single individual.

I very nice man named Trevor who I believe is the owner sat in the reception and the room Dimond heist had one stage where I had to be creative, otherwise, I should be good. I even got to play and only pay for one person. Normally you will have to pay for a minimum of two.

Said and done, I began trying to solve the different problems. A bit too many padlocks for my taste but a couple of really creative puzzles. It was a difficult room (not to exaggerate my skills when it comes to escape rooms). I missed a couple of obvious things (check everything that hangs on a wall if it’s movable…), got a bunch of hints and I got like five minutes extra time so I could finish the room. Had a really nice talk with Trevor afterward as well. Might go back there when I return from Orlando and do another of their two remaining rooms. Then he will have to get in and do one thing which normally is done by a second player.

This happened to be placed on Lincoln Rd which also is an outdoor mall. So after I was finished I took a walk down the street to look for some food. When I reached the end of the street and headed back it started to rain. First just some drops, but it quickly escalated to a rather heavy flow.

I walked/jumped/ran between different shelters until I got to the restaurant I found earlier. Was hoping to sit outside but the design of the street was that the drainage ran beneath the tables so if I were to sit at a table, I’ll get a foot bath at the same time. Inside it is.

At least they didn’t seem to be plugged in…

A nice New York stake and a mocktail served by the lovely Valentina. Noticed that the TV showed a soccer game and the label stated it was live. However, I was skeptical since it was midnight in Europe and Nation League games usually don’t start so late. Checked the score and I was correct, the game had ended a couple of hours earlier. False advertisement!

Walked back to the hotel, and passed by the place I will be staying at in a week. Now laying on the bed, watching Minions, and writing this post. Need to go out and get some breakfast, I’m getting picked up at eight tomorrow morning for a tour of the Everglades.
