I did some research yesterday, on what I could do today that requires a car. Since I have it until nine Saturday morning I want to use it. I found another mall, west of Miami called Dolphin Mall. It’s about 30 minutes drive from Miami Beach. So after I got up, packed my stuff, and stacked it at the door, I went down and checked out. The new room was almost complete but since I planned on being away all day, they would transfer my bags.

I went to the parking garage where I put the car last night and started driving towards western Miami. I feel that I’ve gotten used to driving in the USA, but if Google Maps isn’t properly updated I might miss an exit and get a detour.

Never seen these in Sweden?

I arrived at the mall and got some late breakfast. Then just walked around for a couple of hours shopping for some items I probably don’t need. At 13 I got some fika and watched the game between Leksand and Örebro on my phone. Too bad they couldn’t equalize in the end. Great third period though!

Fika and hockey on the phone (which is currently used to take the photo)

After the game, I went to the cinema and watched Avatar in IMAX 3D. I guess when you see a 13-year-old movie at half past three on a Thursday, it’s reasonable that it’s you and five others in the auditorium.

After the movie (still good), I drove back to Miami beach. I drove through a tunnel to end up at Miami Port, but it wasn’t much to see so I headed back, where I got stuck behind a looking freight train. Don’t think we run two containers stacked in Sweden.

Two containers stacked?

Parked the car at the rental company, in case I don’t want to use it tomorrow. Then I can just go past the office and hand over the key (and I don’t have to pay for parking). The sign below is placed just before Ocean drive, which is the street that separates hotels/bars and the park/beach. Doesn’t seem like the message has been received though. Usually quite loud along that street.

Used the free trolley to get back to the hotel. Not that long walk but I’ve gotten some blisters. Stopped by burger king on the way.

Apparently, I had booked some kind of a suite. My room is actually two, with a view of the ocean, well, it’s behind the trees, but close enough.

Spent the rest of the evening watching Thursday night football and writing this blog post.
