Woke up and figured I’ll pack up, check out and get breakfast at the train station instead of the hotel (hadn’t booked it anyway).

Said and done, got on a scooter, and took off towards Vienna Hauptbahnhof. Bought my ticket and found a cafe where I could buy a couple of delicious baguettes. Got on the train and an hour later I arrived in Bratislava. Walked to the hotel where I, after check-in, met up with Johan and Martin who flew in this morning.

Went out for some lunch and beer (for them). Wasn’t really happy with the recommendation from the receptionist but we got some food and drinks. Back to the hotel for a power nap before heading into the old town and Maximilian fountain where there would be a gathering of leksingar at 15:00.

Found a pub where we think many ended up at. Lots of beer, singing, and amused folks passing by. It also happens to be just outside the apartment where Göran and his travel companions were staying 🙂

Me, Martin, and Johan left the party to get to a restaurant where we had reserved a table dinner, after a recommendation from a colleague. The food was better than expected but the service worse.

Left the restaurant to find Johan some ice cream for dessert and we found a place, just beside the arena. An arena that was quite beautiful and spacious. Took a lap around it, and then waited to get in.

Strange to see how unorganized it was, since it’s a quite big arena. First, we had to get up another staircase, then some bags and pockets were checked, others not, and some covid-passes were scanned, some were not. It seemed a bit better when I passed by half an hour later though.

Lots of LIF-fans in jerseys all over, though most of them at the away section where we all crammed into one instead of two. They didn’t enforce the rules at all, not regarding masks or distance. A bit surprised about this actually. I ended up not wearing a mask in the stands but in the hallway. Easier to sing that way 🙂

I would say that we did okay in the stands, even though the music was so loud in the breaks that I put in my earplugs. They really tried to give everyone tinnitus.

It ended with a win which was terrific, everyone happy and asking, where do we celebrate? Our trio just walked back to the hotel and went to bed. The other two got up early for the 6:30 flight this morning 🙂

Tomorrow we are aiming for an escape room and some touristing!
