In just 32 days my journey to South Korea and Asia begins. This first post will kick off the relatively long series of stories that I will tell from my trip to the 25th World Scout Jamboree, Seoul, Singapore, and Jakarta. The plan is to publish a post per day.

Jonas and I will meet up in Seoul, touring the city until we leave for the campsite and attend the Jamboree. Afterward, we head out to Singapore for a few days before he is heading home while I’m continuing to Jakarta, Indonesia.

Ever since I got accepted to go to the 25th WSJ I’ve been planning for what kind of gear I need in the heat and high humidity. Instructions are to basically leave clothes made out of cotton at home. Replace the sleeping bag with just a sheet. Bring a hat and lots of sunscreen. Do I need any long pants? How do I keep the electronics dry? Mosquitos? Shoes? The questions are many. The Swedish Contingent has weekly published a podcast addressing a lot of the different aspects which has been most helpful. Most of the gear I have since previous trips but I’ve bought some new stuff to increase the chances that I have a decent stay.

Then there is the travel before and after. Though it should be much easier since I’ll be staying in large cities Seoul ~10M, Singapore ~5M, Jakarta ~10M. But it’s nice to have a plan of what to do while there. Especially if it’s something you need to book in advance. At least all flights and hotels are booked.

Now back to continue planning, and counting the days until departure.
