Today was the day to head to the campsite. We woke up, had breakfast, and waited for the buses to arrive at nine. They came at eleven… We went to a welcome center where they checked that we had done Safe From Harm and got our ID badges. We also had lunch. The whole operation took about 2 ½ hours with a lot of waiting.

When we arrived at the campsite I got met by one of our colleagues from Subcamp 17, Helen. She loaded our bags in a car while we walked to our area since we will be sleeping in our subcamp. We are the subcamp closest to the Staff hub and probably have a shorter walk to the dining hall than some ISTs who live in the Staff hub.

We put up our tents and some dinner. It is really warm and my T-shirt was soaked with sweat. Five of us left to find some showers but the only ones we found working was in the Staff hub. No lights, just one drain so water was all over the floor, no hangers. At least there was some sort of shelf we could put in the middle to put our stuff on. Hopefully, some closer showers will open up soon.

When I got back I jumped into my tent to sort my stuff. It’s really warm in here. Round 28-29 degrees. We’ll see how the sleeping will go.
